Apple iPhone 4

After years of denying myself the pleasure of owning one, I will finally get an iPhone (4). I’m somewhat uncertain when my existing contract is up, so I simply entered *639# on my phone to see if I am eligible for an early upgrade.

A full discount on a standard handset or iPhone upgrade is not available at this time but you may qualify on 08/05/2010. We can offer you a discounted iPhone upgrade at a higher price with a 2-yr commitment and an $18 upgrade fee. Please visit a participating iPhone sales location for pricing on this offer.

Alright, I’m not as eligible for the full discount. I can opt for an early upgrade, pay an extra $200, and get my iPhone 4 on the first day. Or I can wait to qualify for a full upgrade, save $200, and get my iPhone 4 on August 5, 2010.

I’m okay with that. But what I’m not okay with…

Here’s what my roommate received when he enter *639#:

As a valued customer, we can offer you an upgrade with a 2-year commitment and an $18 upgrade fee.

I’ve been with AT&T for years, and the f*cking company doesn’t consider me a valued customer. What the hell?
