Who’d ever thought that Canada could pro­duce such serene indie folk music? After releas­ing two very good albums (Great Lake Swim­mers and Bod­ies And Minds), Great Lake Swim­mers has fol­lowed with another very good album in Ongiara.

Apple Says Screw You NBC

Depend­ing on which story you read first or who you believe, just know that nei­ther side dis­agrees with the other. NBC did not want to renew its iTunes con­tract with Apple and was going to let its cur­rent con­tract expire in Decem­ber. Rather than wait for the con­tract to expire and leave iTunes cus­tomers with only half sea­sons of NBC shows, Apple decided to just can­cel the cur­rent con­tract early.

Zambri — Zambri EP (2007)

Zam­bri is another New York-based band, but I guess its one unique char­ac­ter­is­tic is that its fronted by two sis­ters Jes­sica and Cristi-Jo and boy can they have atti­tude. It’s hard to describe the six songs on the band’s self-titled EP, let alone the music as a whole. At the very least, the band plays rock music. But even that’s play­ing it too safe.
