So I’m standing outside of the door to my advisor. I’ve been waiting there for about five minutes. This Asian girl stands behind me. A few minutes later she asks me if I was waiting for the advisor. I say ‘yes.’ I glance over at one of the flyers on the wall and by the time I turn back she had already began talking to the advisor. I came back to Davis today after a much deserved weeklong vacation. Although having surgery took some out of my relaxation plans, I still got lots of rest. My surgery — a gum graft — went well. To my surprise I wasn’t in that much pain. The dentist today took off the bandage and I finally got a look at it. My gums look better, but I wish he could have done more to cover the exposed enamel. Oh well. It turns out my boss had the same surgery last Friday. She’s not feeling well. I wish her the best. … Continue reading…One More Day Of Vacation
The past few weeks have been horrible. I’ve been writing papers non-stop, and as of today, I am done for the quarter. The paper writing wouldn’t have been THAT bad, if not for the almost constant rain and clouds that surrounded Davis. It wasn’t a happy scene, but coming back to Berkeley on a drive with Rlyconfused helped me to realize how cool the rain is. The rolling grassy hills made the rain worth it. Trying to ignore the horrible urban sprawl next to the highway, I couldn’t keep my eyes off all of the green grass. Even Rlyconfused had to admit that SoCal didn’t have grass that green.
