Gang Of Four — Return The Gift (2005)

Gang Of Four is one of the original pioneers of the British punk rock scene in Leeds, England. Featuring the original band members of singer Jon King, drummer Hugo, guitarist Andy Gill and bass guitarist Dave Allen, GoF returns with Return The Gift — a new re-imagined compilation comprised of songs from the band’s earlier works.

Almost A Happy New Year!

Just in case I forgot tomorrow night, I’m going to say it now. Happy New Year! 2006, here I come. Probably my resolution will be to limit the spending I do with my plastic. No more… er… less.

Too Many Magazines

What I didn’t forsee in applying for a few free magazine subscriptions a few years ago would be the random magazines that I would get regardless of me saying yes or no to them. For every free ESPN and Gamepro magazine subscriptions, I received an Ebony, Women’s Home Journal and many Christian magazines. Score one for karma. Darn u!

The Greenhornes — Sewed Souls (2005)

Heavily influenced by rock royalties like The Beatles, The Byrds and The Doors, The Greenhornes strive to make rock simple again. No flash, just down and dirty classic rock. The latest album Sewed Souls is a compilation of tracks from all of The Greenhornes’ previous albums: Gun For You (1999), The Greenhornes (2001), Dual Mono (2002), East Grand Blues (2005). Anyone who missed the band’s previous works will do well to pick this up.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all you dorks and losers out there.

King Kong Is Disappointing

It was billed as the film of the Christmas holidays. Yes, I enjoyed it, but I left the theater with a feeling of disappointment as well. There was pretty cool effects, and almost nonstop action. But if the heart of King Kong is the relationship between Kong and Darrow, then I didn’t feel it. I felt it, but I think I needed more than what was shown. Oh and yes, it was a tad too long.

Braces Come Off Soon

I’ve had braces for thirteen years, three months, twenty days and this morning. It’ll only be a couple of months to go, and the only true wish that I’ve wished for myself will come true. I almost cried when my orthodontist told me the good news…
