Australian Open 2008 + No More Chakvetadze

My girl Anna Chakvetadze (6) is no longer in the Australian Open losing to Maria Kirilenko (27) 7-6 (8-6), 1-6, 2-6 in the third round. Now I have even less incentive to watch an already male-dominated television covered event on ESPN2.

Jelena Dokic is staging a comeback. At last. It’s been too long, and poetically she’s trying to do it at the Australian Open where she has historically chosen not to compete in.

Luckily, school will still be in Christmas recess so I’ll actually be able to watch a lot of tennis for those two weeks.

Nothing is like watching the contest and trying to imagine yourself with any of the girls. That’s how I spent most of my high school years. If you’re going to daydream about being with a certain girl, at least make her the most unattainable girl possible. I wish I heard and saw more advertising for this pageant because I probably would have watched it if I had known about it. Now I’ll probably have to download it or bittorrent it because these organizers have the cheapest marketing campaigns.

Anna Chakvetadze Vs. Maria Sharapova

During the Sony Ericsson Championships at Madrid, Spain, the amazingly beautiful Russian Anna Chakvetadze faced the very pretty Russian Maria Sharapova in one of the semifinal matches. I must say that both ladies have been smooth legs. It should’ve been a realy good match with Chakvetadze having played very well the last few months and Sharapova being a two-time Grand Slam winner.
