I would be shocked if singer-songwriter Chris Gar­neau’s music hasn’t already been fea­tured on Scrubs. If it hasn’t, then I expect the Boston-native to be heard at least once dur­ing the show’s upcom­ing ninth season.

Taller Chil­dren is an inter­est­ing and enjoy­able debut album from New York-based three­some Eliz­a­beth & The Catapult.

Polly Scattergood — Polly Scattergood (2009)

I don’t see myself as a singer-songwriter, or even a singer,” Polly Scat­ter­good clar­i­fies (press release). “A singer-songwriter makes me think of some­one who can sing prop­erly — I’m not the best singer in the world, and I’m under no illu­sions that I am.”

Ice Palace — Wonder Subtly Crushing Us (2009)

Unfor­tu­nately, Won­der Sub­tly Crush­ing Us runs at a short 32-minutes, which makes its incon­sis­ten­cies more appar­ent. Ice Palace could have gone more in either the happy hard­core or the folksy Amer­i­cana direc­tion, but instead treaded down both for a very ‘is that it?’ experience.

Outside Lands 08: Day Two (Saturday)

San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park hosted the First Annual Out­side Lands Music & Arts Fes­ti­val to much applause and yearn­ing. With so much avail­able open space, it’s hard to imag­ine that there hasn’t been a music fes­ti­val that has rocked the park past sun­set. Saturday’s fes­tiv­i­ties began at 1:00pm, and fea­tured SF’s lovely cloudy weather.
