Anna Chakvetadze Turning A Corner In 2009?

Anna Chakvetadze lost to Venus Williams 0–6, 7–6 (8–6), 4–6 at the WTA Rome International in Rome on May 6, 2009.

Anna Chakvetadze At Fed Cup

What’s Wrong Anna?

Russian babe Anna Chakvetadze hasn’t been the same since reaching her highest ranking of 5 last year. She lost to Jelena Dokic 4–6, 7–6 (7–4), 3–6 in the second round of the Australian Open.

Top 5: 2008 French Open Babes

These are some WTA players to watch for at the 2008 French Open. ESPN.com had something like this up, which I can’t find the link to. That article had more in-depth tennis coverage, while mine just has mostly pictures. Please note, some have (to our regret) have already been knocked out of the Grand Slam as of this posting.

Australian Open 2008 + No More Chakvetadze

My girl Anna Chakvetadze (6) is no longer in the Australian Open losing to Maria Kirilenko (27) 7–6 (8–6), 1–6, 2–6 in the third round. Now I have even less incentive to watch an already male-dominated television covered event on ESPN2.

Anna Chakvetadze Vs. Maria Sharapova

During the Sony Ericsson Championships at Madrid, Spain, the amazingly beautiful Russian Anna Chakvetadze faced the very pretty Russian Maria Sharapova in one of the semifinal matches. I must say that both ladies have been smooth legs. It should’ve been a realy good match with Chakvetadze having played very well the last few months and Sharapova being a two-time Grand Slam winner.
