Here is another Yahoo! homepage that I came across using Apple Safari.
The main page highlights news stories and has persistently updates as you scroll further down. There is a main ad on the right above the fold. If you scroll slightly down then there is a Flickr widget in the right sidebar. I’m glad Flickr is highlighted, but I kind of wish it was more prominent on the homepage.
The search bar and left sidebar are locked on the top and left sidebar respectively. If you stay on the homepage, as news updates the website title updates as well with the number of new items (a la Techmeme). YOu can also delete or remove those news links if you want.
Bottom line: I like it.
