Al Jazeera has a segment (10 November 2009) on Ordos, China where GDP is sustained through constant building. While Ordos is actually a thriving city in inner Mongolia, the “new” Ordos is filled with vacant suburban development and an I Am Legend-like atmosphere.

This is actually pretty scary to think that ghost towns like this exist.
