Rafael Nadal (1) beat Roger Fed­erer (2) 7–5, 3–6, 7–6, 3–6, 6–2 to win the 2009 Aus­tralian Open on Feb­ru­ary 1, 2009.

It’s Nadal’s sixth career major title and needs only the U.S. Open to com­plete his Grand Slam reign. Fed­erer still needs only the French Open title to com­plete his Grand Slam col­lec­tion and add to his thir­teen career major titles.
